Summary/Job Scope

Operate plant and assist Operations Manager III in the daily operations, including managing the drivers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordination of daily plant operations and personnel
2. Operation of computerized batch panel
3. Monitoring raw material feed, truck availability and sequencing, customer needs and mix designs to assure product quality and timely delivery
4. Ordering raw materials
5. Oversee the cleaning of mixer, chutes, conveyors, catwalks and other general plant areas to eliminate material build-up
6. General housekeeping of batch office
7. Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems in the plant
8. Verify lubrication of all plant equipment and documentation
9. Minor repair of all plant equipment
10. Assisting in emergency repair situations of plant
11. Basic preventive maintenance
12. Knowledge of basic office machinery
13. Take customer orders and understand truck scheduling
14. Record keeping, maintaining files, answering phones and data entry
15. Provide directions and assistance to drivers using radio equipment and mapping software
16. Coordinate daily functions with various operations

Qualifications

1. Minimum MCA Level 1 Technician or ability to pass within 6 months of hire
2. Basic mechanical skills
3. Basic computer knowledge
4. Ability to read and write
5. Customer service experience
6. Knowledge of materials
7. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time in a fast-paced environment
8. Knowledge of materials and equipment (e.g., conveyor lines, concrete plant)
9. Knowledge of local geography and truck routes
10. Knowledge of lock-out, tag-out, and confined space procedures
11. Ability to work extended weekday hours, weekends and night shifts
