What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Supervise daily operations of the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) program and oversee CDI staff
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, documentation standards, and reimbursement protocols
- Provide training and education to Clinical Documentation Specialists to enhance their skills
- Collaborate with clinicians, coding, and quality teams to improve clinical documentation
- Monitor performance metrics and participate in quality improvement initiatives
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare-related field, or Nursing
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a hospital clinical documentation integrity program
- At least two (2) years of supervisory experience in a clinical documentation integrity program
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, coding guidelines, and DRG reimbursement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification as a Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP)
- Demonstrated expertise with 3M CDI Software and working knowledge of Epic EMR
- Experience supervising geographically dispersed teams
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to resolve documentation integrity issues
- Understanding of the Catholic health ministry and evolving healthcare delivery systems
