Job summary

Polyglass is seeking an experienced Plant Superintendent to lead all production functions at our Hazleton facility. You will drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement while coordinating with Maintenance and Quality teams.

Role focuses on creating schedules, coaching a multi-skilled workforce, solving complex process issues, and developing team members through formal plans and regular feedback sessions. Spanish bilingual is required.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish is a MUST.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading a team of managers.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure standards for quality, safety and productivity are met by all teams in facility.
• Meet or exceed metrics / goals centered on production schedule, downtime, and material quality.
• Create and manage the schedule for all teams.
• Effectively manage inventory variances to optimal levels.
• Coach, mentor, and guide plant staff.
• Be a key problem solver for issues with team members, process, equipment and systems.
• Develop your team members professionally with a formal plan and effective coaching.
• Follow up effectively on pending issues through resolution.
• Conduct regular feedback sessions to capture ideas and issues.

Position Summary

Responsible for all production functions. The Plant Superintendent assists in the development of production goals and drives continuous improvement throughout the entire operation. The Plant Superintendent reports to the Plant Manager and provides an interface with the Maintenance, Quality, and other functional departments as needed.

• Maintain a multi-skilled workforce with effective cross-training to ensure team members can assist in multiple areas

• Effectively manage inventory variances to optimal levels
• Partner with all plant staff to coach, mentor, and guide
• Be a key problem solver for issues with team members, process, equipment and systems
• Identify and resolve personal or performance issues within the team that may lead to disruption or lack of productivity
• Create quick and effective solutions to address issues in order to keep operations moving
• Develop your team members professionally with a formal plan, effective communication and coaching to get them to the next level in their career
• Follow up effectively on any pending issue and continue to do so through resolution
• Conduct regular feedback sessions to ensure team members ideas, issues and other input can be shared and follow on this input

Required Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish is a MUST
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading a team of managers
• Experience in a manufacturing setting

• Lean Manufacturing Principles knowledge and experience such as 5S
