MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Job summary

NSG/Pilkington is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor for our plant in Ohio. You will lead and plan preventative maintenance, respond to unplanned events, and supervise the Shift and Daycrew Pool maintenance teams to keep equipment running at optimal levels.

You will manage parts, contractor work, and ensure adherence to safety, 5S, and quality standards while mentoring staff and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing facility.
• 3-5 years supervisory experience.
• Must be analytical and detail oriented.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance planning and execution.
• Unplanned event response.
• Direct supervision and planning of the Shift maintenance team.
• Direct supervision and planning of the Daycrew Pool maintenance team.
• Part management and availability.
• Contractor management as needed.
• Ensure employees are provided appropriate recognition, guidance, and counseling on matters related to job performance and absenteeism.
• Maintain constructive and candid relationships by addressing opportunities in a timely manner.
• On shift review of critical equipment areas that service the entire plant. Implement the maintenance safety program segments.
• Ensure 5s standards in the maintenance area.
• To instigate studies and actions to overcome technical downtime problems, to reduce waste and improve team performance.
• To monitor, together with team members, process performance in order to identify areas for improvement, coordinating corrective actions as necessary.
• To instigate studies and actions to improve the efficiency of the plants building service area.
• To assist in the commissioning of new plant and equipment and other systems to ensure that the introduction into the production facility is handled efficiently and within minimum disruption.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Equivalent Experience
• Excellent communication & human relation skills. Also well-developed interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills and problem-solving skills. The ability to effectively interact with all levels.
• 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing facility
• 3-5 years supervisory experience.
• Must be analytical and detail oriented.
• Must be able to work independently and past experience should demonstrate achievements supporting a results-oriented focus and use of leadership skills.

Qualifications Desired:

• 1-3 years glass manufacturing experience
• AutoCAD
• Previous supervisory experience
• Self-motivated individual
• Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
