Vylor is seeking a Research Assistant to join the Johnston, Iowa team. You will support transformation pipelines with pollen/silk donor experiments, seed inventory management, and plant progression tracking in controlled environments.

You will collaborate with CE teams and external partners while leading a small crew for pollination tasks. Ideal candidates hold an associate or bachelor’s in agriculture or related fields, with experience in corn shoot bagging and greenhouse settings.

Qualificações

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, plant sciences, or related field preferred.
• Experience shoot bagging corn and working in field and/or greenhouse settings.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Effective written and verbal communication, self-motivation, positive attitude, attention to detail.
• Ability to drive company vehicles, such as a tug.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn internal research software.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and work in a warm, humid greenhouse with pollen year-round.

Responsabilidades

• Create pollen and silk donor experiments for transformation pipeline.
• Request and maintain seed inventories for donors with seed handling team.
• Track T0 numbers and timelines as plants progress in controlled environments.
• Collaborate with CE teams and external partners.
• Lead crew performing shoot bagging and pollination bag setup; ensure trait purity and protocols.
• Coordinate with Plant Movement Lead to track space in static greenhouses.
• Support daily floor operations, including plant transfers and disposal of regulated material.
• Rotationally assist with pollinations and provide feedback for efficiency and improvements.
