Job summary

Rise Baking Company in Pleasant View, Utah seeks a results-driven Sanitation Supervisor to lead the sanitation team, ensure FDA and GFSI compliance, and safeguard food safety and personnel safety. You will develop schedules, train staff, manage inventories, and coordinate with QA and Production to meet production goals.

This role requires leadership, budgeting awareness, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement, audits, and safety programs such as LOTO and chemical safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree preferred or 2+ years of sanitation program implementation experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
• GFSI, FDA, and State Department of Agriculture experience preferred.
• HACCP and PCQI certification preferred.
• Experience developing and managing to a budget preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Sanitation team across all shifts including training, development, scheduling, and performance management.
• Develop, implement, and maintain master sanitation schedules and daily housekeeping requirements.
• Ensure proper equipment sanitation and efficient startups through understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ensure plant areas are properly sanitized and in good repair.
• Work with Quality Assurance and Production to validate allergen cleaning effectiveness.
• Coordinate readiness for upcoming projects and plan schedules to meet deadlines.
• Order and manage inventory for Sanitation materials within budget.
• Control chemicals within the Sanitation department and coordinate with chemical providers.
• Ensure training is completed and documented for the Sanitation team.
• Enforce safety programs including Lock Out Tag Out and chemical safety; monitor PPE adherence.
• Create, update, and audit sanitation programs and SSOPs for FDA and GFSI compliance.
• Support quality systems related to sanitation, environmental safety, and food safety.
• Participate in audits (food safety, plant, and third-party).
• Provide pest control support with external provider to close corrective actions timely.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lead by example.
• Support food safety, quality standards, and legality of products manufactured.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
