Job summary

Foster Farms is seeking an experienced EHS professional to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives at our facility. You will develop and enforce safety policies, investigate incidents, and guide corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong English communication, multi-tasking across audits and trainings, and the ability to work varying shifts on-site in a production environment. Five years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a B.S./B.A. degree in safety or related field (ASP or CSP Preferred).
• Must have a minimum of five years of professional experience in planning, developing, implementing and ensuring compliance with health and safety system programs and environmental programs.
• Education and experience must clearly indicate specialized knowledge in critical health & safety programs and functions.
• Knowledge of Cal/OSHA, Fed/OSHA and UFC rules and standards.
• Must demonstrate good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read, write and understand English; bilingual English/Spanish or English/Punjabi preferred.
• Must be able to work in both individual and team settings with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and health and safety software systems.
• Must be able to work varying shifts and stand on production floor as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce governing safety and health policies and procedures and conduct incident investigations to ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions completed.
• Mentor supervisors, team members, and management to develop a positive safety culture throughout the facility.
• Maintain and analyze safety data to develop trends and action plans; prepare reports for management and safety committees.
• Perform safety audits and inspections, track findings, and ensure corrective actions closeout.
• Prepare and deliver EHS trainings to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Assist, enforce, and monitor environmental programs (Air Quality, Pesticide, Hazardous Material, etc.).

Pay Range: $93,825 - $117,275 per year

Purpose of Position

To create a safe, healthy, and positive working environment at the facility for all Foster Farms' team members. Responsible for facility's compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to environmental, health and safety concerns (EHS). Developing, implementing, and managing all EHS policies and procedures. Managing incident investigations, tracking EHS metrics, workplace inspections, and recommending program modification or corrective actions pertaining to EHS issues onsite.

Essential Job Functions

• Develop, implement, and enforce governing safety and health policies and procedures and conduct incident investigations to ensure "root cause(s)" have been identified and that appropriate corrective action has been completed.
• Mentor supervisors, team members, and management to develop a positive safety culture throughout the facility.
• Maintain and analyze safety related data to develop trends and action plans. Prepare and deliver reports for management and guide safety committees.
• Perform safety audits and inspections of the facility's operations, as well as track findings and assign corrective actions to ensure closure.
• Prepare and deliver selected EHS trainings and programs to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
• Assist, enforce and monitor compliance with environmental programs for the facility; programs include Air Quality, Pesticide, Hazardous Material, Hazardous Waste, Industrial Wastewater and Drinking Water & Storm Water Programs

• Must have a minimum of five years of professional experience in planning, developing, implementing and ensuring compliance with health and safety system programs and environmental programs.
• Education and experience must clearly indicate the existence of specialized knowledge in critical health & safety programs and functions, such as medical management, behavioral safety process, facility auditing, incident investigation, and employee safety committees.
• Knowledge of Cal/OSHA, Fed/OSHA and UFC rules and standards.
• Must demonstrate good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read, write and understand English; Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Punjabi preferred.
• Must be able to work in both individual and team work settings with minimum supervision.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, as well as health and safety network information systems.
• Must be able to work varying shifts in varying environments including wet, cold and hot environments and must have regular attendance; must be able to occasionally audit/train on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
• Must be able to stand on the production floor for varying amount of times with or without accommodations.
