Job summary

Foster Farms is seeking a General Production Manager to oversee multiple departments and achieve quality, yield, productivity, cost and safety goals in our Kelso facility. You will lead Supervisors and Teammembers, align with company policies, and drive continuous improvement while meeting production targets.

The role emphasizes leading safety programs under USDA/SSOP/HACCP and OSHA guidelines, providing timely feedback to Plant/Shift Manager, training staff, and maintaining assets to support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field; preferred.
  • Minimum of five years in the poultry processing industry with increasing responsibility.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing production needs; independent decision-making.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the various department(s) of responsibility and meet department/company goals for quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.
  • Develop and train Supervisors and Teammembers within Company Policies to meet current and future needs.
  • Provide quick and timely feedback to Plant/Shift Manager on productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost and safety, and address areas out of parameters.
  • Ensure department compliance with USDA, SSOP, HACCP and OSHA safety programs.
  • Maintain safety orientations, training, and meetings to support zero incidents.
  • Participate in department planning meetings and develop techniques/processes.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of Company assets and advise on items to support business objectives.

Pay Range: $98,200.00-$122,750.00 Plus eligible for 10% target bonus.

The Maintenance GPM will provide support to Maintenance team during the second shift. The working schedule will be from 4:00 pm - 1:30 am. The Maintenance GPM will help maximize equipment availability by reducing mechanical downtime, prioritizing repairs, and assist with special projects for the facility.

Job Duties
  • The General Production Manager (GPM) is responsible for overseeing the various department(s) of responsibilityand for meeting Department/Company goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.
  • Responsible for the development and training of Supervisors and Teammembers, working within the guidelines of Company Policies, to meet the current and future needs of the Company.
  • Responsible for quick and timely feedback to Plant/Shift Manager on all exceptions regarding productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost and safety, and managing the correction of areas which are out of acceptable parameters.
  • Ensure department compliance within Company policies, law, and regulations which include USDA, SSOP and HACCP programs, and all OSHA required safety programs.
  • Ensure the safety of our Teammembers is maintained by overseeing the administration of safety orientations, training, and meetings as required, to assist in attaining zero incidents.
  • Participate in department meetings in the planning process, along with the testing and development of techniques/processes.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of Company assets; make recommendations for acquiring necessary items to support business objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field preferred, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have a minimum of five years of experience in the poultry processing industry with progressively increased responsibility.
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to evaluate supervision fairly and objectively.
  • Must exhibit strong leadership skills/internal drive to succeed.
  • Must be able to prioritize and adjust quickly to a changing work environment with minimal supervision, to meet changing production needs.
  • Must have advanced problem-solving skills and be able to make independent decisions.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
