Job summary

Foster Farms is seeking a packaging line supervisor in California to oversee the entire packaging process for poultry products, ensuring daily production goals are met and USDA criteria are satisfied. You will train hourly staff, enforce safety practices, and provide prompt feedback on productivity and quality issues.

Candidates should have a BS/BA in Business Management or related experience, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt production to changing product

Responsibilities

• Supervise packaging line employees to achieve daily production goals.
• Oversee packaging of poultry products from whole body to skinless, boneless meat while meeting USDA criteria.
• Train and monitor hourly employees; take disciplinary action as required.
• Ensure a safe work environment and provide safety training.
• Provide timely feedback on productivity, quality, safety, downtime and regulatory issues.
• Manage line to achieve company yield objectives.
• Maintain and improve quality and food safety to comply with company standards and USDA requirements.
• Attend required training including Quality Control and Human Resources.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Pay Range: $70,304 to $82,285 per year.

• Responsible for supervising packaging line employees to achieve daily production goals.
• Supervise the packaging of poultry products varying from whole body to skinless, boneless meat while meeting finished product internal and USDA criteria.
• Train and monitor hourly employees, taking appropriate disciplinary action as required.
• Ensure a safe work environment and take appropriate corrective action as needed, conducting safety training.
• Provide timely feedback to employees regarding problems with productivity, quality, safety, down time and regulatory issues.
• Manage his/her line to achieve company yield objectives.
• Help maintain and improve quality and food safety, to ensure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
• Attend training as required, including Quality Control, Human Resources, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must possess a B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience (preferably in the agricultural industry).
• Must demonstrate ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Must have good interpersonal skills.
• Must have strong mathematical background to be able to perform calculations on quality, productivity, timecards, reports, etc.
• Must be able to evaluate employees fairly and objectively; must possess strong human resources skills.
• Must have the ability to flex production to meet hourly changing product mix demands.
• Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check.
