Job summary

Nutrien is seeking a Safety & Security Officer for the Aurora, North Carolina plant. This role enforces safety rules, oversees traffic, and delivers world‑class customer service to visitors and workers in a 12‑hour shift.

You will inspect incoming freight, enforce MARSEC/OSHA protocols, and handle emergency response tasks with high accuracy and vigilance. A strong attention to detail and solid communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• NCRC testing required for all hourly applicants; must meet minimum scores.
• 1-3 years of work experience in security/EMT preferred; keen observation and communication skills needed.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform security checks for traffic entering the plant site.
• Issue plant passes to visitors by reviewing licenses and IDs.
• Confirm inbound freight documentation (DOT endorsements and bills of lading).
• Enforce federal, state and company safety protocols and regulations.
• Collect samples of outbound product.
• Inspect perimeter security, gates, vegetation, and signage.
• Provide emergency assistance to personnel on site and nearby areas.
• Learn and apply SOPs, safety and environmental regulations.
