Job summary

Sanmina Corporation is seeking a Safety Engineer to serve as the primary operations safety engineer on the plant-floor, ensuring hazard prevention and regulatory compliance in a heavy manufacturing setting.

You will conduct daily safety audits, implement LOTO and NFPA 70E safeguards, and lead incident investigations with CAPA actions while delivering onboarding and toolbox talks to shop floor teams. This hands-on role emphasizes continuous improvement and strong collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of safety engineering or technical EHS experience in heavy industrial manufacturing, energy equipment, or subsea/oil & gas sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Safety Engineering).
  • Solid understanding of OSHA General Industry standards (29 CFR 1910) and NFPA 70E electrical safety.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily plant-floor safety audits and hazard analyses across fabrication and processing operations.
  • Establish and enforce LOTO, Arc Flash/NFPA 70E, crane safety, and heavy rigging controls.
  • Lead incident investigations (8D, 5-Why) and implement CAPA actions.
  • Deliver safety orientations and lead toolbox talks; coordinate safe-work qualification programs.
  • Track leading/lagging metrics (TRIR, DART) and support OSHA 300 logs and SDS databases.
  • Lead safety committee meetings and collaborate with operators to continuously improve safety controls.
