Job summary

Atrium Staffing is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a leading manufacturing client in Illinois. The role focuses on maximizing plant efficiency by optimizing utilities, reducing downtime, and driving reliability programs across production units.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, 3+ years in industrial settings, strong problem-solving skills, and experience with PM/RCM/CMMS. Salary ranges from $80k to $100k plus benefits.

Qualifications

3+ years of engineering experience in chemical manufacturing, food processing, or similar industrial environments.
Knowledge of PM, PDM, CMMS, RCM, and TPM.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Experience coordinating maintenance personnel and contractors.
Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Ability to estimate, plan, schedule, and complete work orders.
Experience managing budgets and estimating project costs.
Knowledge of capital expenditure management.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee operation and performance of facility utility systems and report metrics.
Drive equipment reliability and asset performance improvements.
Collaborate with production teams to maximize uptime and quality.
Act as SME for utility systems and maintenance challenges.
Support technicians with engineering expertise and troubleshooting.
Conduct failure analyses and implement corrective actions.
Evaluate preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
Communicate with leadership to align priorities.
Identify and source parts and resources for maintenance.
Lead capital and process improvement projects from concept to start-up.
Analyze equipment trends and maintenance data for reliability gains.
Manage third-party service providers and contractors safely and effectively.
