Job summary

Sonoco, a global packaging leader, seeks a Plant QA Manager in Oakdale, CA to lead the quality assurance function. You will develop and maintain SQF/FSSC programs, ensuring compliance with customer, internal, and regulatory requirements, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.

You will oversee RCA/CAPA activities, manage audits, and guide a team to achieve first-pass yield targets while reducing defects and costs. A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in QA are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of job-related experience in quality assurance.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
• Experience with SQF or FSSC and ISO quality systems.
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely manage the plant QA function and team.
• Develop and maintain SQF/FSSC programs to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
• Plan and implement QA systems (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, DMAIC, Lean).
• Lead root-cause analysis and CAPA to improve first-pass yield and reduce defects.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and drive continuous improvement.
