Job summary

Sonoco in Irving, TX is seeking a Quality Manager to lead development and maintenance of the quality testing and reporting system. You will coordinate the Quality Management System, lead corrective actions for customer issues, and drive APQP compliance across plant operations.

The role requires a four-year degree (science/engineering) and 2+ years in quality systems development. Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred, with a strong focus on process improvement and training across shifts.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in sciences or engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining quality testing/reporting systems.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide development and maintenance of the quality testing/reporting system.
• Coordinate, support, train, and facilitate within all attributes of the Quality Management System.
• Serve as the point of contact for customer issues, lead corrective actions and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Oversee the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.
• Lead the continuous improvement program.
• Reduce task variation to improve process efficiency and quality.
• Manage specifications, test methods, instructions, and audit processes.
• Ensure quality records are maintained and training across shifts.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing development and maintenance of the quality testing/reporting system.
• Responsible to develop, coordinate, support, train, assist, and facilitate within all attributes of the Quality Management System.
• Point of contact for all Customer issues, lead corrective actions, and ensure Sonoco is meeting all customer requirements.
• Responsible for the Advanced Product Quality Planning Process (APQP).
• Lead the continuous improvement program.
• Reduces variation within work tasks to improve process efficiency and quality.
• Managing the specification, test methods, instructions, and audit processes.
• Ensure quality records are maintained.
• Develops best practices for each operation within the plant and trains across all shifts as required.

We’d love to hear from you if:

• You have a four-year degree, preferably in the sciences or engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years’ experience in the development and maintenance of a quality testing/reporting system.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certified is preferred.

Compensation:

• Quality Manager - Plant: The annual base salary range for this role is from $88,000 to $99,000, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
• Quality Manager II - Plant: The annual base salary range for this role is from $102,240 to $115,020, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
• Quality Manager III - Plant: The annual base salary range for this role is from $113,840 to $128,070, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
