Job summary

TPIRC in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Research Associate - Plant Proteomics to advance studies on plant-derived proteins and their role in food allergy and related disorders. You will perform extraction, purification, characterization, and activity assays in a translational research setting.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in plant biology or biochemistry, hands-on proteomics, and the ability to design experiments, maintain records, and collaborate across teams in a dynamic, on-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Life Sciences or related field.
• Hands-on experience in plant proteomics.
• Ability to maintain accurate laboratory records and document findings.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments involving plant protein extraction, purification, and characterization.
• Support research projects investigating plant proteins related to food allergies and disorders.
• Perform biochemical, proteomic, and immunological assays.
• Analyze and interpret data and prepare summaries of findings.
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and research documentation.
• Coordinate inventory of supplies and reagents and ensure safety compliance.
