Job summary

Colgate-Palmolive’s Hill’s Pet Nutrition plant in Washington Court House, OH seeks a Plant Project Engineer to drive continuous improvements from unloading to packaging, supporting daily operations and capital project implementation across batching, processing, and packaging.

The role emphasizes capital project management, process standardization, and collaboration with global process engineering, quality, and EHS to ensure compliance and successful technology transfers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Processing Technology, or a closely related technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to read, interpret, and develop engineering drawings and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
• Ability to support a 24/5 manufacturing operation, including working flexible shifts, weekends, or holidays, and maintaining on-call availability during project start-ups.
• Demonstrated capability to ensure manufacturing asset compliance with local, state, federal, and internal safety, quality, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital project management: MOC, definition, planning, expenditure, timelines, and technology transfer for capital projects and new products.
• Design, specify, develop, install, start-up, troubleshoot, and transfer for new products/equipment and cost-saving initiatives; collaborate with global process engineering.
• Develop and implement process improvements to meet business needs (reliability, waste, quality, safety, cost per pound).
• Serve as primary resource to operating technicians for troubleshooting involving design, production, quality defects, process changes, and equipment modification.
• Develop and maintain specifications, technical documentation, and procedures for processing and equipment aligned with KPI goals.
• Develops, validates, and transfers factory SOPs related to new products and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with CP/Hill's, local, state, and federal EOHS, Quality, and Regulatory standards.
• Support implementation of Quality Assurance and Food Safety initiatives; enforce Hill’s policies and GMPs.
• Other duties as assigned.
