Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. in East Alton, IL is hiring a Production/ Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, production, and quality goals are met. The role reports to operations leadership and emphasizes strong teamwork and process discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience in a supervisor role in a manufacturing plant preferred.
• Ability to lead and guide staff, fostering a strong team environment.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance, safety management and process management.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and assessment abilities.
• Self-motivated, high energy and data-driven.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate and work with people at all levels of the business, internal and external.
• Ability to bring the right people and information together to make timely decisions.
• Ability to influence others to shape action.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day operations of the team to achieve safety, production, and quality goals.
• Drive a safety-first culture; lead safety improvement initiatives to reach zero OSHA recordable injuries and prevent near misses.
• Assist in managing the production department per workplace policies and the collective bargaining agreement.
• Coordinate work schedules and coverage needs for smooth operations.
• Support development and execution of standard work procedures and continuous improvement efforts.
• Assist in developing the production team through training and coaching.
• Communicate cross-functionally to coordinate safety, quality, production, maintenance and development activities.
• Provide effective employee and labor relations in line with the collective bargaining agreement.
• Champion customer excellence through best-in-class delivery performance.
• Support the Department Manager and Operations Manager with other initiatives as requested.
• Execute and embody Wieland core values.
