Job summary

Wieland is seeking a Production/ Maintenance Supervisor in East Alton, IL to lead daily operations, drive safety and achieve production targets. The role reports to the Department and Operations Managers and emphasizes continuous improvement and strong labor relations.

The candidate will oversee safety, quality, and efficiency, coordinate schedules, and mentor the production team while upholding Wieland's values and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 3+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day operations of the team to achieve safety, production and quality goals.
• Drive the safety-first culture and lead safety improvement initiatives to zero injuries.
• Assist in managing the production department per workplace policies and the collective bargaining agreement.
• Coordinate work schedules and coverage for smooth operation.
• Support development and execution of standard work procedures and continuous improvement.
• Assist in developing the production team through training and coaching.
• Communicate cross-functionally with internal teams to coordinate safety, quality, production, maintenance and development.
• Provide effective employee and labor relations practices compliant with the collective bargaining agreement.
• Champion customer excellence through best-in-class delivery performance.
• Support the Department Manager and Operations Manager with other initiatives.
• Execute and embody Wieland core values.

Wieland is hiring a Production/ Maintenance Supervisor. The Production/ Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for providing key support and leadership within the manufacturing plant at East Alton, IL. The Production Supervisor role supports the Department and Operations Managers and is integral in meeting safety, production, and quality objectives. This role assists in ensuring that all facets of production operations are performed safely and efficiently by demonstrating the standards of behavior expected of a Wieland leader. This role will be located in Wieland's East Alton, IL facility.

Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities

Production/ Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Direct the day-to-day operations of the team through effective leadership techniques to achieve safety, production, and quality goals.
• Drive the Safety-First Culture; lead and engage in safety improvement initiatives to achieve zero OSHA recordable injuries and prevent near misses.
• Effectively assist in managing the production department in accordance with all workplace policies and the collective bargaining agreement.
• Coordinate work schedules and coverage needs to ensure resources are readily available for a smooth operation.
• Support the development and execution of standard work procedures and continuous improvement efforts to drive sustainable transformation at the plant.
• Assist in the development of the production team through effective training and coaching.
• Effectively communicate cross-functionally with internal team members to ensure coordination of safety, quality, production, maintenance, and development activities.
• Provide effective employee and labor relations practices compliant with the collective bargaining agreement.
• Champion "customer excellence" through best-in-class delivery performance.
• Support the Department Manager and Operations Manager with other initiatives and needs as requested.
• Execute and engage the team in the Wieland core values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is preferred
• 3 + years' experience working in a supervisor capacity in a manufacturing plant is preferred.
• Ability to provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering a strong team environment.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance, safety management and process management.
• Strong analysis, critical thinking, and assessment abilities.
• Self-motivated, high energy and data-driven.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills, and organization skills.
• Ability to communicate and work with people at all levels of the business, internal and external.
