Job summary

Ingevity is seeking a Production Supervisor for our Wickliffe Carbon Plant in Ohio. You will lead operators and hourly staff, drive safety leadership, and coordinate with engineers and production teams to meet daily and outage goals.

You will enforce SHE rules, manage training programs, and support continuous improvement while ensuring Quality Management System compliance and operational excellence on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant production or industrial manufacturing experience with 3+ years of supervisory experience included will be considered in lieu of Bachelors' degree.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of production or equivalent industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience in training and/or leading others.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with diverse teams and at all levels of the company to achieve goals and results.
• Effective at leading individuals and teams towards the resolution of issues.
• Be an active and engaged safety leader to build and maintain a strong safety culture to achieve zero personal and process safety incidents.
• Strong analytical skills and mechanical aptitude.
• 3+ year supervising hourly employees in a union environment and/or managing salaried employees is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead operators and other team members to reach key performance metrics and remedy deviations.
• Manage and direct Area Supervisors and hourly employees.
• Provide safety leadership for your area including remedying problems quickly and performing routine safety inspections.
• Build strong knowledge around Safety, Health and Environmental rules and regulations to maintain a strong culture.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems for the area.
• Cover Area Production Manager and Area Production Engineer responsibilities as needed.
• Assist with plant outage planning and executing as needed.
• Provide coaching to drive continued improvement.
• Collaborate with Production Engineers and key partners to implement improvements.
• Identify, troubleshoot and prescribe innovative solutions to complex operational issues.
