Job summary

Sonoco in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Plant Process Engineer to lead environmental compliance, support capital projects, and ensure safe, reliable manufacturing operations. The role collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety teams to improve equipment reliability and process performance.

Requirements include a B.S. in Engineering or equivalent, 3–5 years in a manufacturing leadership role, and strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and mechanical/electronic systems.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (or A.S with equivalent experience) required.
• 3-5 years experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in mechanical systems, electronics/automation, and chemical processes.
• OSHA safety requirements knowledge, with emphasis on mechanical safety, machine guarding, energy isolation, LOTO, confined space entry, fall protection, and safe work procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage plant environmental compliance by monitoring KPIs and assisting with regulatory reporting and audits.
• Support capital improvement projects from planning through completion.
• Administer and support plant safety programs to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
• Provide engineering oversight for plant utilities, facilities, and production support equipment.
• Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance for equipment and systems.
