Job summary

ADM is seeking a Plant Process Engineer for Clinton, IA. This exempt, onsite role focuses on applying engineering principles to optimize safety, quality, and cost in both new and existing operations.

You will work with Production, Maintenance, and tech partners to advance process control, simulations, and capital projects, while mentoring teams and promoting best practices across the plant.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience with plant process systems.
• Experience with process control, including FLEX and APC.
• Strong commitment to safety and safe design.
• Willingness to spend time in plant areas; tolerate extreme temperatures and navigate confined spaces.
• Ability to work effectively on both co-located and geographically dispersed teams.
• General knowledge of codes, relevant standards and materials of construction.

Responsibilities

• Work with company expertise and technology partners. Apply innovative approaches as joint effort with Production and Maintenance
• Assist new product development and new technology assessment
• Support capital projects and startups, including the ten core Process Engineering competencies
• Develop process simulation models to fundamentally understand and benchmark performance
• Partner with Production to implement and transfer advanced process control (APC) and optimization applications
• Act as a resource and networking point for engineering colleagues through coaching, mentoring, and training
• Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to develop standard plant performance metrics and maximize shareholder value
• Drive standards for engineering excellence to new levels; capture and propagate best practices
• Develop communication and teamwork skills across functional and divisional boundaries. Potential interactions include but not limited to: safety, production, management, project engineering, energy, cost accounting, process control, commercial, vendors, partners, maintenance, legal, inter-department, inter-plant, research, and corporate resources
