Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Plant Engineer in Louisiana to provide technical leadership ensuring safe, reliable plant operation. You will monitor performance, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate with operations, maintenance, vendors, and regulators.

The role requires ABET-accredited engineering education with 2+ years of related experience; PE license is preferred. Base salary ranges from $87,633 to $128,688 annually with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited engineering degree with 2+ years of related experience.
PE license preferred; master’s degree or ABET-accredited path may be considered.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support and technical execution for plant operations and maintenance.
Perform structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis of failures.
Monitor turbine and auxiliary system performance to identify improvements.
Support reliability programs and data-driven recommendations to leadership.
Maintain configuration control and project coordination with vendors and contractors.
