Job summary

SGMC Health Careers invites applications for a full-time Plant Operator role at the Main Campus. You will monitor and maintain HVAC systems, emergency power supplies, and building utilities, ensuring safety and efficiency across OR and procedural areas.

Ideal candidates have vocational HVAC training and 5–7 years in a physical plant setting, with relevant certifications and prior SGMC Plant Operator experience. Weekend evening shifts are required, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a vocational HVAC program or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of physical plant, electrical, or mechanical experience.
• Certification in Emergency Power Supply Systems required.
• Facility Management Computer Operation Course with at least 75% competency.
• Minimum 5 years in SGMC Plant Operator role.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate temperature and humidity stresses and plant load to optimize chiller cycling.
• Monitor and maintain temperature/humidity of supply air handlers and OR areas.
• Coordinate projects; communicate needs to supervisor; minimize cleanup.
• Monitor Emergency Power Supply System and perform generator operations.
