Job summary

Singing River Health System seeks Plant Operator I–V to perform maintenance and non-clinical facility support across locations. The role supports patients, guests, and staff and requires basic computer skills and physical stamina.

Advancement from Operator I through V depends on experience and demonstrated proficiency in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing tasks, with training responsibilities for Operator V.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent is required.
• Certification preferred for electricians, HVAC technicians, and plumbers.
• Plant Operator I: 0–2 years’ experience in related fields.
• Plant Operator II: 2–4 years’ experience; must be Plant Operator I for at least two years.
• Plant Operator III: 4–6 years’ experience; must be Plant Operator II for at least three years.
• Plant Operator IV: 6+ years’ experience; must be Plant Operator III for at least three years.
• Plant Operator V: 6+ years’ experience plus minimum one year as Plant Operator IV.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance and non-clinical facility support.
• Provides support to patients, guests, and staff.
• Reports to Facilities Support Manager; may train lower-level operators.
• Operates with rotating shifts and travels within SRHS service area.
