Job summary

VSS Emultech is seeking a Plant Operator for our West Sacramento facility. The role supports manufacturing, loading and unloading of chemicals, emulsified asphalt, and binder products, while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, performing weekend checks, maintaining records, and working as part of a team in a dynamic industrial environment. A forklift license and reliable transportation are required as part of progression toward Level II operator.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills using a calculator.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to self-start and motivate others.
• Ability to work in dirty, adverse conditions.
• Weekend plant checks on rotating basis.
• Observe gauges and machinery to ensure specs.
• Ability to obtain a forklift license.
• Aim to advance to level II operator within 1 year.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and professional communication with stakeholders.
• Load and unload chemicals, emulsified asphalt, binder trucks, tack pots, spreader trucks, and asphalt.
• Assist in railcar steaming and unloading operations.
• Perform basic housekeeping tasks and tool cleaning.
• Sweep building interiors and manage storage of tools.
• Participate in safety meetings and teamwork activities.
• Keep basic written records.
• Adhere to environmental, health, and safety rules and procedures.
