Job summary

Colonial Group, Inc. seeks a Plant Operator for its GKT plant in Garden City, GA to receive, handle, and package dry bulk products. You will unload railcars and vessels, prepare products for shipment, and may work flexible shifts during vessel cargo receipt.

Prior general labor and equipment operation experience is preferred. Candidates must be able to operate small and heavy equipment, adhere to safety protocols, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience and related equipment operation are required.
• Must follow all safety protocols and procedures.
• Good communication skills are essential for coordination and safety.
• Must maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends when required.
• Ability to work flexible shifts as needed during vessel operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate bagging equipment and package dry bulk products.
• Load bags using a forklift and stack them in the warehouse.
• Set up terminal equipment to fill storage silos from vessels or railcars.
• Perform rail receiving duties and sample products for QC.
• Operate unloading equipment for ships and railcars.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and report faults promptly.
• Follow safety rules and wear required PPE at all times.
• Adhere to procedures for unloading, loading, and paperwork.
