Job summary

Georgia Ports Authority is seeking an Equipment Operator responsible for operating all container handling equipment and performing related duties to meet service standards. You will work under supervision to load and unload containers and chassis, inspect equipment, and maintain safe operations in a busy port environment.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to work shifts, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy equipment operation and CDL preferred.
• Must be able to work shifts, holidays, and weekends.
• Good vision and hearing, physical stamina, and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Capable and willing to operate major container field equipment safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate with drivers and yard operations to load/unload containers and chassis.
• Inspect equipment for safe operation and report deficiencies.
• Perform manual tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing as needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory and assist with clerical duties related to container movement.
