Job summary

Koch Fertilizer in Wever, IA is seeking a Plant Operator to join our Ammonia, UREA, UAN, Nitric Acid & Utilities Operations teams. The Operator will control equipment systems that process chemical substances into specified products and monitor the production process to ensure safety and efficiency.

This role requires owning tasks, continuous improvement, and readiness for 12-hour shifts on a 4-5-5 rotation, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Able to walk long distances and work outdoors in all weather.
• Comfortable climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
• Physically capable of handling heavy equipment and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant units to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Coordinate with maintenance and lab for smooth plant operation.
• Follow safety and environmental policies and SOPs.
• Review procedures and suggest process improvements.
• Respond to callouts and overtime as needed.
