Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA (ADI) - Filling industrial - Dry-ice

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Airgas is seeking a Plant Operator for our SFS Dry Ice facility. The Plant Operator will assist with tasks such as production, packaging of dry ice, shipping preparation, and loading/unloading products in commercial trucks.

At Airgas, our trusted team of Plant Operators are responsible for safely packaging product within a manufacturing plant. Adherence to facility work rules and meeting productivity, quality, and safety standards are essential.

Normal duties may include:

• Loads and packages dry ice daily according to quality standards.
• Operates forklift and/or pallet jack to maneuver and load dry ice on production floor and trailers.
• Follows all safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Performs clean-up functions including sweeping, washing, painting, trash removal, and pick-up.

Are you a MATCH?

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.

• At least one (1) year of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform basic math operations with units of measure, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to understand and follow supervisor instructions.
• Capability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.

Work environment:

The work environment includes an unconditioned space that can be warm or cold, with hazards requiring personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes. Handling dry ice requires gloves due to its extreme cold. The noise level is usually loud.
