Pilot Plant Operator

As the Pilot Plant Operator, you will operate pilot plant manufacturing equipment in accordance with design or experimental parameters or identify new processing parameters.

Your key responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operation of pilot plant JLINE (219kg) process equipment and to report mechanical issues and follow up on repair/maintenance job completion.
  • Responsible for the management of pilot plant critical inventory items and for taking samples (in-process or final) for characterization with analytical instruments.
  • Meets periodically with key stakeholders to develop a schedule for the pilot plant.
  • Partners with R&D and Engineering to plan, design, execute and review special project work.
  • Assists R&D group in performance of analytical tests and reports on the outcomes.
  • Ensure all documentation, batch cards, spreadsheets, logbooks, sanitation logs, raw material inventory are accurately maintained and up to date.
  • Offers support to project teams, Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) as well as Quality initiatives. Utilize a computer to obtain availability of raw materials; post batches closing, check inventory, print labels.

You bring

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Prior process equipment operator experience in a manufacturing environment and experience handling chemicals. Must have more than 1 year of manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of G.M.P’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and H.A.C.C.P (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
  • Must have computer skills, i.e. MS Office, Outlook, Excel spreadsheets, SAP and various application programs.
  • Experience logging data and observations and maintaining a lab notebook. Detail-oriented.
  • Must have the ability to operate a forklift.
