Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Power Plant Operator to monitor and control auxiliary equipment such as pumps, fans, and condensers. You will use SAP/PM to verify equipment history and maintain logs, while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities include mentoring less experienced team members, analyzing chemistry tests, and following clearance procedures in the centralized control room to uphold plant performance.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a technical field or equivalent.
• Experience in power plant or process-controlled environment required.
• Multiple qualification paths including military or vocational credentials.

Job description

• Responsible to control and maintain auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, and condensers, that supply water, fuel, lubricants, air, and auxiliary power
• May be responsible for monitoring and operating controls in the centralized control room of the power plant
• Assists in the training and mentoring of less experienced team members
• Monitor, operate and check Auxiliary equipment
• Identify abnormal Auxiliary equipment operations and take action
• Monitor, analyze and perform chemistry tests
• Keep logs, records data and verbally communicate plant conditions
• Utilize SAP/PM system for equipment history and verification of work performed
• Execute clearance procedures and follow all safety and environmental rules

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in a technical discipline; Or High School Diploma/GED And 1 year experience in a technical field; Or A certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in a technical field; Or Prior military service for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214
• Associate's Degree in a technical discipline, And 1 year experience in a technical field; Or High School Diploma/GED And 3 years experience in a technical field; Or Prior military service for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214, And 2 years experience in a technical field; Or High School Diploma/GED And 1 Direct Plant experience at the same power plant and successful completion of Board Review
• Experience must include 1 year experience in a power plant or other process controlled environment
