Job summary

Airswift is seeking an experienced Power Plant Operator to join our Gregory, Texas plant for a 9-month assignment with potential extension. The role operates on a 7/7 rotation, 12-hour shifts, coordinating with maintenance, engineering, vendors, and leadership to maintain safe and efficient plant performance.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years in power generation, strong knowledge of steam production and auxiliary equipment, and proven ability to troubleshoot complex plant issues while

Qualifications

  • Power plant experience required (minimum 5 years).
  • Advanced knowledge of steam production, cooling systems, condensers, turbines, boilers, chemical processes, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ability to interpret operating data and chemistry logs to solve complex operational problems.
  • Experience with environmental compliance, safety programs, and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced operating tasks requiring strong technical judgement across plant and system operations.
  • Diagnose abnormal plant conditions and take appropriate corrective action to support safe and reliable performance.
  • Execute major operating activities including system transitions, complex start-ups, shutdowns, and high-risk operational adjustments.
  • Complete rounds and chemistry sheets as part of routine operational monitoring.
  • Support troubleshooting during plant performance issues and help guide operational response during abnormal conditions.
  • Validate compliance with operating procedures, environmental requirements, and plant safety standards.
  • Contribute to procedure development, operational improvements, and system performance optimization.
  • Represent operations when coordinating with maintenance, engineering, vendors, and leadership teams.

Role Context

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ability to solve complex operational problems through interpretation of operating data, chemistry logs, and system interactions.
  • Expertise in environmental compliance, safety programs, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Operating experience in power generation, industrial processing, or a closely related environment.
  • Technical coursework, vocational training, or an associate degree in a related field such as process technology, industrial operations, or instrumentation.
  • Equivalent training combined with extensive technical experience.
