Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a Plant Operator to assist in running stone processing plants, including start-up and shut-down procedures.

You will inspect conveyors, screens, and crushers, report issues, and perform routine maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly while maintaining a clean, safe work area. Prior aggregate plant experience is helpful; high school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years preferred in aggregate industry; experience in plant operation a plus.
• Must be dependable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience operating mobile equipment (haul truck, skid steer) a plus.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist in the operation of stone processing plants, including start‑up, shut‑down, and overall plant operation.
• Inspect, monitor, and operate conveyors, screens, and crushers; identify and report operating issues and oversized stone.
• Perform routine maintenance, including minor repairs, adjustments, inspections, and lubrication of plant equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety by performing general cleanup around the plant and equipment areas.
• Complete additional miscellaneous duties as assigned to support plant operations.

What Are We Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years prior experience in the aggregate industry preferred; experience in aggregate plant operation and maintenance a plus.
• Highly dependable, ability to work in fast paced environment.
• Prior experience operating mobile equipment (haul truck, skid steer, etc.) and machinery a plus.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Conditions of Employment

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
• Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.

What We Offer
