Job Description - Plant Operator (250000ZZ)

What You’ll Do:

1. Promote Safety: Prioritize safety throughout the operation for yourself and others, following MSHA and Vulcan standards.
2. Plant Operation: Operate plant equipment to control the flow of materials via conveyors, chutes, pumps, and storage bins; manage stockpile inventory.
3. Inspect Equipment, Structures, and Material: Perform daily inspections and maintenance, documenting repair or service needs.
4. Monitor Processes and Materials: Ensure continuous flow of materials and maintain product quality; remove clogged materials when necessary.
5. Document and Record Information: Assist with record keeping, daily production schedules, and prepare reports; read and write delivery tickets and issue them to customers.
6. Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment: Support maintenance activities such as greasing, lubricating, and minor repairs.
7. Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills You’ll Need:

• Experience: Preferably with previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry.
• Knowledge of Best Practices: Basic understanding of concrete, cement, or construction industry standards.
• Flexibility: Ability to work overtime, extended hours, and outdoors in all weather conditions; tolerate loud noises.
• Mechanical Skills: Some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
