Job summary

Canusa Hershman Recycling LLC is seeking a hands-on operator for our Baltimore, MD facility. You will follow safety rules, learn the recycling process, and support a team in daily production tasks. The role includes cleaning, equipment upkeep, and basic material handling.

We value mechanical aptitude, reliable work history, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Rotation shifts and overtime are expected in this manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Must follow safety rules and participate in daily crew safety.
• Rotational shifts and overtime availability required.
• Some manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must be mechanically inclined and understand mechanical principles.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and participate in daily crew safety.
• Learn the layout of the operation and recycling process.
• Clean facility areas, assist with equipment upkeep and maintenance.
• Work as a team with operators on production tasks and problem solving.
• Train to load and unload raw material and finished product.
• Forklift, skid steer and trailer jockeying experience is desired.
• Complete other tasks as requested by supervisor.

Job description

• Follows all safety rules and procedures; attends and participates in daily crew safety.
• Learn the layout of the operation and gain knowledge of the recycling process.
• Cleans up areas of the facility (stock off floor, bale organizing, and other cleaning assignments); assists as general labor on equipment upkeep and maintenance.
• Works as a team with fellow operators on a variety of production responsibilities and problem-solving scenarios.
• Train to load and unload raw material and finished product.
• Forklift, Skid Steer and Trailer Jockeying experience desired.
• Completes other tasks as requested by supervisor.

Your Background and Strengths

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Must show a commitment to an interdependent safety-first attitude.
• Must be available for rotation shifts and overtime
• Some manufacturing experience and consistent work history preferred.
• Must be mechanically inclined and understand mechanical principles.
• This job entails bending, walking, lifting, and climbing throughout the shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on an occasional basis.
• Ability to communicate well with others and able to lead team meetings.
• Ability to work independently and in a team empowerment culture.
