Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. Assistant Plant Manager oversees all plant operations that convert raw materials into high-quality products, ensuring equipment and facilities are sanitary and well-maintained, with a direct report to the Plant Manager.

The role requires 2-3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing and at least 3+ years in industrial settings; a Bachelor's degree is preferred, with strong organizational and communication skills, and a self-motivated, independent work style.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an efficient and timely flow of all raw materials received.
• Responsible for maintaining hourly schedules beginning to end.
• Monitors performance to ensure procedures meet high standards.
• Controls vendor pricing by comparing prices with value, service, and quality.
• Plans stock orders to minimize time and money spent on emergency ordering.
• Responsible for the quality of all finished products and determines any reason for loss of quality.
• Supervises maintenance and production personnel and maintenance duties of equipment and buildings.
• Keeps maintenance records up to date.
• Follows and enforces all safety rules and conducts regular safety meetings.
• Investigates accidents and makes recommendations to the Plant Safety Committee.
• Other duties as assigned
