Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee operations including environmental, health & safety, quality, production, maintenance, and capital planning in a cost-effective manner while meeting customer requirements.

The role emphasizes safety leadership, regulatory compliance, budget reporting, and continuous improvement across the facility. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are required for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in a supervisory/ management position in an industrial or plant setting.
• Rendering industry experience is a definite plus.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; Engineering degree is an asset.
• Labor relations background and leadership preferred.
• Detail oriented; highly organized.
• Ability to work well with internal staff.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Self-starter; self-motivated.
• Good math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations including EH&S, quality, production, maintenance and capital planning.
• Lead safety improvement initiatives and foster a safety-based culture.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, HACCP and local/regional agencies.
• Prepare monthly reports and analyze budgets; take corrective actions.
• Maintain efficient flow of raw materials and ingredients.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts across areas of responsibility.
• Review and lead capital projects with development of assets.
• Ensure personnel trained and equipment in good order.
• Ensure finished products meet quality standards and specifications.
• Manage energy use and local purchasing activities.
• All other duties as assigned.
