Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials is seeking a Production Supervisor to coordinate daily production activities, supervise an hourly workforce, and support the Plant Manager with scheduling, maintenance, and safety initiatives. The role emphasizes achieving production targets, maintaining quality, and fostering productive, self-directed teams.

The successful candidate will have supervisory experience in mining/manufacturing, knowledge of MSHA regulations, and strong budgeting and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining or related field preferred.
• 3 years supervisory experience in manufacturing, mining, aggregates, or related industry.
• Experience in Crushing and Shipping operations.
• Knowledgeable in MSHA regulations and compliance.
• Proficient computer skills; JDE experience a plus.
• Strong organizational and budgeting skills.
• Understand all components of plant and departmental cost and production.
• Be willing to prepare for future growth potentials within plant and company.
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of an hourly workforce in production, maintenance and quarry duties.
• Assist Plant Manager with scheduling repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Monitor operations to ensure production and QC standards are met.
• Enforce safety rules and conduct periodic inspections.
• Develop empowered/self-directed work teams across operations.
• Recruit, train and evaluate staff; conduct annual reviews and merit decisions.
• Coordinate staffing with Plant Manager for safe operation of the plant.
• Generate profit plans, AFEs, and market analyses for management.
