Job summary

Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc. is seeking a Service Center Operations Supervisor to direct the efficient operation of our plant, including production equipment, shipping, receiving and inventory control.

You will guide a team, ensure safety, and drive process improvements in a quality-focused environment. Qualifications include 1–3 years of supervisory experience, HS diploma (college preferred), proficiency with MS Outlook/Word/Excel, and a willingness to learn SAP.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Willingness to learn SAP.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Education: HS diploma; college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs plant operations to meet production goals.
• Lead and coach direct reports; manage performance processes.
• Address safety, quality goals, and ISO 9000 standards.
• Review inventory levels and advise purchasing when low.
• Oversee training and training-checklist completion.
• Communicate across departments and locations.
• Ensure material decisions align with customer requirements and equipment capabilities.
• Enforce safety practices and company policies; support safety goals.
• Follow and enforce CBA and Memorandum of Agreement.
• Other duties as assigned.
