Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Holland, MI is seeking an Operations Manager to lead plant manufacturing functions, ensuring quality, on-time, and profitable production. You will oversee press operations, coordinate production departments, and maintain safety, cost controls and customer shipping requirements.

Responsibilities include determining material, equipment, and staffing needs, driving problem solving, enforcing root-cause actions, leading audits, and training production staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years’ experience leading a multi-shift production facility.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Experience with safety, quality, productivity, inventory and stewardship processes.
• Union relations experience preferred (UAW).
• Experience with Plex Systems ERP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads all press operations in the plant and coordinates the work of production departments.
• Analyzes material, equipment, and staffing requirements through daily meetings with subordinates and department heads.
• Responsible for overall product quality, identifies problems and takes corrective action including root cause analysis and audits.
• Motivates and directs training of production personnel, develops strengths, and communicates progress to attain customer satisfaction.
