Job summary

Chemours - DeLisle Plant, Pass Christian, MS - seeks an Operations Manager to lead manufacturing areas, uphold safety, and drive cost-effective performance. This role will set strategic priorities and guide cross-functional teams in a high-hazard environment.

The successful candidate will collaborate with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering and Finance to optimize assets, improve process safety, and deliver lean improvements, while managing budgets and developing leaders for sustained site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering; Mechanical, Electrical, or other relevant engineering disciplines will also be considered based on applicable operations experience.
• 10+ years of manufacturing or industrial operations experience in a PSM-covered, high-hazard chemical, petrochemical, refining, or comparable environment.
• Proven manager-of-managers leadership with responsibility for developing leaders and achieving safety, reliability, and performance goals.
• Experience managing significant operating or fixed-cost budgets and achieving KPIs and cost improvements.
• Willingness to relocate in the future for leadership opportunities within Chemours.
• Lean manufacturing experience and daily management systems.
• Lean certification or experience leading Lean transformations.
• Experience using SAP or other ERP systems to manage performance and data-driven decisions.
• Experience partnering with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, and Capital teams to improve aging process assets.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for assigned manufacturing areas, ensuring safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective performance.
• Lead and develop Production Leaders, supervisors, and other operations personnel, building leadership capability, accountability, employee engagement, and a strong safety culture.
• Establish and drive performance against key operating metrics including safety, process safety, production, OEE/downtime, reliability, yield, quality, productivity, and cost.
• Ensure strong operational discipline and compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM), EHS requirements, operating procedures, and regulatory standards within high-hazard manufacturing operations.
• Develop and execute short-and-mid-term operating plans while providing input to longer-term site strategy, asset utilization, resource requirements, and manufacturing priorities.
• Manage fixed and variable operating costs, monitor financial performance, and develop actions to achieve annual cost and productivity commitments.
• Partner with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, and Capital Project teams to prioritize asset needs, improve equipment reliability, maintain safe operations, and support successful project execution within assigned operating areas.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean principles including daily management, visual management, standard work, Kaizen, and structured problem solving to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Ensure effective quality management practices, including investigation and resolution of non-conformances and sustained performance against product and process requirements.
• Collaborate with Plant Leadership, Supply Chain, functional partners, and other site stakeholders to optimize plant performance, build organizational capability, and support the long-term competitiveness of the site.
