Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an Operations Manager to lead shift production, direct both salaried and hourly leaders, and drive safety, quality, and efficiency across the plant. You will manage budgets, optimize resources, and mentor a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include achieving yields, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and ensuring HACCP and sanitation standards are met. Willingness to travel up to 10% and work varied hours is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience required.
• 2+ years of team management or project leadership experience.
• Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office to streamline processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all shift production operations and direct production leaders to ensure smooth processes.
• Foster strong employee relations and implement training, counseling, and recognition programs.
• Manage layout improvements, automation projects, and cost-saving initiatives to meet budgets and efficiency targets.
• Lead safety and ergonomics programs, enforce protocols, and reduce injuries and costs.
• Ensure HACCP/SSOP compliance and CCPs to maintain product quality and safety.
