Job summary

Client in Anderson, SC seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead manufacturing operations, including Production, Scheduling, Maintenance, Tooling, Engineering, and CI. The role drives safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives while leading cross-functional teams to improve overall performance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in a related field and 5+ years of leadership in plastics/automotive manufacturing, with strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and OSHA/EPA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing operations leadership in plastics/automotive environments.
• Experience leading multiple operations functions (Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Tooling, Scheduling, CI).
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001/ISO 45001 and OSHA/EPA regulations.
• Proven Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen experience.
• Strong financial acumen and budget management.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across Production, Scheduling, Maintenance, Tooling, Engineering, Technical Resources, and Continuous Improvement.
• Optimize utilization of personnel, equipment, tooling, technology, materials, and capital resources to maximize operational performance.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, minimize downtime, enhance quality, and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Partner with Engineering and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, tooling performance, and plant efficiency.
• Lead capital projects and support procurement, installation, commissioning, and optimization of new equipment and systems.
• Establish, monitor, and report on key operational metrics and address issues across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, ISO, IATF).
• Manage departmental budgets and control labor, materials, maintenance, capital, and other costs.
• Collaborate with Materials, HR, Quality, EHS, and external providers; build partnerships with suppliers and vendors.
• Lead, coach, and develop cross-functional teams; foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Support workforce planning, talent development, performance management, and succession planning.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational strategies with business objectives.
