Job summary

Rand Whitney Industries Corp in Boylston, MA is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a single-site, single-shift manufacturing operation. You will drive production execution, collaborate across Planning/Scheduling, Engineering, Materials, Production, Customer Service, Safety/Quality, Sales and Maintenance to meet production and quality targets in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.

You will champion process improvements, manage costs, and mentor a cross-functional team while ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required; Engineering or Business preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years supervisory experience leading 25+ people in a process/production environment.
• Knowledge of process improvement - Lean Manufacturing.
• Strategic and detail oriented with action focus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Ability to create and track key performance metrics.
• Able to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
• Technical experience with carton erecting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily execution of the multi-shift operation by synchronizing the Production team's operations and coordinating with functional departments.
• Lead and supervise with clear expectations, providing feedback, evaluations, training and role modeling.
• Staff and schedule employees to meet workload while achieving production plans and quality.
• Monitor cost effectiveness of work orders, material usage, payroll, and related costs.
• Leverage reporting and transparency in a collaborative team environment focused on key metrics.
• Measure efficiencies, quality expectations and drive improvement.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to execute the Process Engineering program.
• Lead and promote a safety culture; partner with Maintenance to minimize downtime and costs.
• Handle special projects as dictated by business needs.
• Respect and protect confidential information as required.
