Job summary

Rand Whitney Industries in Boylston, MA is seeking an Operations Manager responsible for production, supervision, control, and process development in a complex manufacturing environment. The Operations Manager leads a single-site single-shift operation and collaborates with peer departments to achieve targets.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage staffing, monitor costs, and ensure quality standards while building a safety culture and coordinating with Maintenance to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Engineering or Business preferred.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience with prior management responsibility.
• Experience leading 25+ staff in a process/production environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and process improvement.
• Strategic and detail oriented with strong execution focus.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Ability to create and track key performance metrics.
• Flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production execution across multi-shift operations.
• Staff and schedule employees to meet workload and quality targets.
• Monitor costs, material usage, payroll, and downtime.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality on process engineering.
• Drive safety culture and reduce downtime in cooperation with Maintenance.
• Provide clear communication, feedback, and performance evaluations.
