Job summary

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in Building Plant Operations and Maintenance.
• Associate degree in Engineering or related field.
• Steam Engineer license required.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of building automation systems and controls.

Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures and applicable laws.
• Inspects equipment and facilities for proper operation.
• Maintains routine records and determines malfunctions.
• Disassembles, repairs or replaces parts and tests for proper operation.
• Reports serious problems to Chief Engineer for scheduling.
• May service gas/steam boilers, hot water boilers and heaters.
• Adjusts steam pressure, combustion, water flow and safety devices.
• Tests boiler water and adds chemicals as necessary.
• Maintains records of repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Perform general maintenance on hospital equipment, fixtures and systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
• Ensure close cooperation with other hospital staff and health plan members.
