The Plant Operations Director at Porter Medical Center leads the Engineering/Maintenance Department across PMC locations, ensuring life safety, regulatory compliance, and safe, reliable infrastructure.

The Plant Operations Director has overall departmental leadership responsibilities for building maintenance, Biomed and Hazardous Waste for all PMC locations and Helen Porter. The Plant Ops Director is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and supervising assigned activities of the Engineering/Maintenance Department functions in maintaining the physical structures, Life Safety Codes, compliance with regulatory standards to include CMS, OSHA and standards for HVAC, medical equipment, electrical systems, utility systems and grounds of the hospital in an operative and safe working condition. Provides direction, coaching and performance management for the Plant Operations manager and technicians. Oversees all work provided by the Plant Operations department. Coordinates with other leaders across the organization and UVM Health Network to address and partner on all facility related projects, safety concerns and challenges. This position will also be a member of the University of Vermont Health Network Facilities Leadership Council.
* College education in maintenance, or Technical Education in a building trade with State licensure is preferred.
