FARMERS CO OP ASSOCIATION in Richland Township, IA is hiring an Agronomy Plant Operations Employee to support safe, efficient operations, handle inventory, mix and load fertilizers and crop protection products, and provide dependable customer service.

The role requires an agricultural background, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment; CDL and Applicator License training will be provided within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required (or equivalent).
  • CDL and Applicator License must be obtained within 3 months of hire; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor agronomy plant equipment, including blending, loading, unloading, conveying, and application systems.
  • Receive, handle, store, and load fertilizer, crop protection products, seed, and other inputs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with product tracking.
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with fertilizer and chemical blending according to specifications and procedures.
  • Follow all safety policies, OSHA requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assist with seasonal agronomy operations and extended hours as needed.
  • Provide professional service to growers, applicators, truck drivers, and other customers.
  • Complete required paperwork and inventory documentation.
  • Support other plant and agronomy activities as assigned.

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Agronomy Plant Operations Employee to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our agronomy facility. This position will be responsible for assisting with plant operations, product handling, equipment operation, inventory management, quality control, and customer service while maintaining a strong focus on safety and environmental compliance.

The ideal candidate has an agricultural background, strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor agronomy plant equipment, including blending, loading, unloading, conveying, and application systems.

Requirements
Education and Experience Required
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CDL and an Applicator License is required within 3 months of hire date. Will assist in training and licensing.
