Job summary

Koch Foods, Inc. is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to provide medical care and first-aid support on the 2nd shift. You will collaborate with Safety Managers, manage workers' compensation records, and coordinate pre-employment physicals and drug testing.

The role emphasizes wellness program development and coordination with the local occupational health clinic. Required is an LPN license or equivalent, with COHN certification or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license or equivalent required.
• COHN certification or willingness to obtain.
• Prior occupational health experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee health information.
• Knowledge of OSHA, ADA, FMLA regulations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care from minor incidents to first aid.
• Support Safety Managers in coordinating health services.
• Maintain workers' compensation information and schedule visits.
• Coordinate pre-employment physicals and drug testing.
• Develop and implement employee health and wellness programs.
• Maintain relationship with local occupational health clinic.
• Manage hearing conservation, heat stress, respirators, and ergonomics training.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Support and assist Safety Managers in coordinating and managing health services.
• Maintain workers compensation information for claims, and help schedule doctor visits and transportation.
• Coordinate and perform pre-employment physicals and drug testing (post-offer, accident, and random).
• Develop and implement employee health and wellness programs such as health assessments, immunization programs, medical care, wellness education, counseling, etc.
• Maintain active and positive ongoing relationship with local occupational health clinic.
• Manage hearing conservation, heat stress, respiratory protection and ergonomics programs including development and delivery of employee training.
• All other relevant duties to the job.

Requirements

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required OR Certified EMT, Paramedic, etc.
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) certification or willingness to obtain.
• Prior occupational health experience within a similar environment preferred.
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to ensure confidentiality of employee health information.
• Knowledge of OSHA, ADA, FMLA regulations.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent utilization of office equipment and/or computers.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Exposure to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
• Possible exposure to heat (99°F, 37°C) and cold (45°F, 4°C).
• Possible exposure to wet and cold environment.
• Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
