Job summary

Koch Foods, Inc. is seeking an occupational health professional to provide medical care from minor incidents to first response on 2nd shift. The role supports Safety Managers, maintains workers compensation records, and coordinates pre-employment testing.

You will develop wellness programs and liaise with the local occupational health clinic. The candidate should hold LPN or EMT/Paramedic credentials, with COHN certification or willingness to obtain, and demonstrate excellent customer service

Qualifications

• Licensure as LPN or equivalent (EMT/Paramedic) is required.
• COHN certification or willingness to obtain is required/preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care from minor incidents to first response.
• Assist Safety Managers in coordinating health services.
• Maintain workers compensation information and schedule doctor visits/transport.
• Coordinate pre-employment physicals and drug testing (post-offer, accident, random).
• Develop and implement employee health and wellness programs.
• Maintain relationship with local occupational health clinic.
• Manage hearing conservation, heat stress, respiratory protection and ergonomics training.

• Support and assist Safety Managers in coordinating and managing health services.
• Maintain workers compensation information for claims, and help schedule doctor visits and transportation.
• Coordinate and perform pre-employment physicals and drug testing (post-offer, accident, and random).
• Develop and implement employee health and wellness programs such as health assessments, immunization programs, medical care, wellness education, counseling, etc.
• Maintain active and positive ongoing relationship with local occupational health clinic.
• Manage hearing conservation, heat stress, respiratory protection and ergonomics programs including development and delivery of employee training.
• All other relevant duties to the job.

Description

Requirements

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required OR Certified EMT, Paramedic, etc.
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) certification or willingness to obtain.
• Prior occupational health experience within a similar environment preferred.
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to ensure confidentiality of employee health information.
• Knowledge of OSHA, ADA, FMLA regulations.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent utilization of office equipment and/or computers.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Exposure to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
• Possible exposure to heat (99°F, 37°C) and cold (45°F, 4°C).
• Possible exposure to wet and cold environment.
• Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
